Engagement Photo Session with KT Merry – Florence, Italy
I am a very indecisive person and wedding planning has only highlighted that flaw of mine. When Tony and I got engaged last December, a wedding date of June 2016 seemed like a lifetime away so I never really rushed the planning process… Sure, I’ve spent countless hours looking at Pinterest, Style My Pretty, Brides.com, The Knot, and bridal magazines, but we haven’t actually made any major decisions regarding our wedding day.
All of a sudden, November is here, we’ve been engaged for almost a year, and our wedding is only seven months away. I’m having a slight panic attack! We need to start making real decisions and we need to start making them reaaaal quick.
One of the first (and only) decisions I’ve made regarding our wedding so far was choosing our wedding photographer, KT Merry. Photography was one of the most important things to us when planning our wedding budget and I knew I wanted to allocate a certain percentage of our budget so we could work with our dream photographer.
I discovered KT Merry on Style Me Pretty just two days after Tony and I got engaged; every image of KT’s had an ethereal quality to it and told a beautiful story and I knew we had to work with her on our big day. I contacted her a few weeks later before we even decided on a venue or date and continued to exchange emails with her as we finalized our wedding details. Can I just reiterate exactly how patient she was with us?! I think we changed our minds at least five times before we finally settled on a date and venue…
Originally, Tony and I were only going to work with KT for our wedding day and skip our engagement photos since we live in Italy, travel logistics might be tricky, and quite frankly, we didn’t really see the point in engagement photos. Fortunately, KT persuaded us otherwise and we were able to coordinate an engagement session in Florence, Italy.
We met with KT and her husband, Chad, bright and early at 6AM to avoid the crowds, catch the sunrise, and hit up some of our favorite spots in Florence. KT and Chad were both so professional, personable, and friendly and made our engagement session such a fun and relaxing experience.
I am so happy we decided to do an engagement session in Florence because it gave Tony and I some modeling and posing practice before the big day (i.e., I learned that I really need to stop slouching my shoulders and stop lifting weights) and it gave us an opportunity to document our time in Italy with an amazing photographer, which is truly priceless!
